A multi-site pastoral counseling service dedicated to healing and enriching family, individual and community life in northern New Jersey through quality psychotherapy, and various programs fostering spirituality, creativity, healthy relationships, and improved daily functioning.

The Creative Living Counseling Center offers many workshops and dose on-going programs. The Center tailors programs to the needs of religious communities, schools, business, and community organizations.

These programs are often done in out offices as well as at the particular organization that is requesting the particular the program or workshop.

Ongoing Programs

  • Support Groups for Religious Leaders - an opportunity for pastoral caregivers to discuss, get support and supervision around issues of ministry. Meets twice monthly for a nominal fee and includes many faith traditions.

Time Limited Workshops

  • Safe Space - an eight week support group for bereaved high school teens who have lost a loved one through death. (offered regularly in Allendale). A separate group is also available for the parents or guardians of the teens that will meet at the same time.
  • Anger Management - an eight week intensive Anger Management Group for persons who have difficulty in managing their anger. In a safe and protective environment, compassionate and skilled support will be provided to bring a better understanding about the problems with anger.
  • Addiction and Grace- This workshop begins with the assumption that we all are strongly attached to certain habits and behaviors that we fall back on when life seems too frightening or when we are feeling hopelessly bored or lonely. It considers the possibility that behind our addictive behavior is a yearning for an attachment to a loving God. This workshop is designed to offer people a safe, supportive space in which to look at their own addictive patterns and to become more in touch with their yearning for “another answer.” There will be opportunity to consider what steps might be taken to become even more in touch with the “yearning” for a God of compassion
  • Women’s Workshops - are offered on various topics such as Midlife Rediscoveries, Women and Spirituality, etc.
  • Midlife Issuse - including Spiritual Rediscovery, Life Changes and New Goals, etc.
  • Parent Education - are workshops for parents that are offered regularly.
  • Grief Groups - eight week groups for those who have experienced a significant loss.
  • Relationship Workshops - such as “To Forgive or Not To Forgive,” “Deepening Couple Intimacy,” “Recovering from Broken Relationships,” “Helping our Children Cope with Fear,” “So You Are Becoming a Blended Family” and “The World of Adolescence-Help and Hope for Harried Parents.”
  • Professional Issues - morning workshops on topics such as: “Balancing the Limits and Expectations of Being a Helping Person: Having a Personal and a Professional Life as the same time,” “When You are the Target of Anger,” “Dealing with Difficult People,” and “Leadership in Conflict.”
