Marilyn B. Batchelder, D.Min., pastoral psychotherapist and marriage and family therapist, has a solid background in Marriage and Family Therapy. In her clinical training program at Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute, she extended her study a fourth year in order to include courses in family systems theory and supervision of work with dysfunctional families.

Dr. Batchelder counsels individuals, couples, and families and leads workshops and seminars on such topics as: Anger and forgiveness in families Parenting skills: Tot through teens; How to talk to and listen to your children; Minimizing sibling rivalry; Building self esteem in your children; Effective discipline; Building open, honest and joyful marriages; Recognizing and treating depression; Joys and strains of multi-cultural marriages; and How to talk to the opposite sex in a changing culture.

In conjunction with her training at Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute, she also received a Doctor of Ministry in Counseling from Andover Newton Theological School. with a dissertation on marriage therapy. She holds a B.A. from Pomona College, an M.R.E. from Yale University Divinity School, and an S.T.M. in Pastoral Care from New York Theological Seminary. Dr. Batchelder has a New Jersey License in Marriage and Family Therapy; is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy; and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She is ordained in the United Church of Christ.
