Marcia Wyrtzen, L.C.S.W., licensed clinical social work and psychotherapist, has in-depth experience in the mental health profession. She has been a:

- school guidance counselor
- vocational rehabilitation counselor
- clinical social worker
Ms. Wyrtzen has helped stepfamilies with difficult adjustment problems. She has counseled natural and foster parents as a caseworker for the Bureau of Child Welfare, N.Y.C. She has also worked with pediatric oncology patients and their families as well as providing counseling for women in domestic violence situations. At Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ she has helped lead support groups for parents of children with cancer and parents who have lost a baby to the sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Ms. Wyrtzen has been successful in providing counseling services to bereaved people of all ages, helping them deal with their losses. She has also helped people with the problems and concerns of life’s transitions, and is a facilitator for bereavement/transition support groups.
Ms. Wyrtzen holds a Masters of Arts in Social Work from Fordham University, NY and a Maser of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, NY. She holds a New Jersey Department of Education Certificate -Student Personnel Services, and New York and New Jersey State Elementary School Teacher Education Certificates. She is licensed by the state of NY and NJ as a Clinical Social Worker.
She has worked for Creative Living since 1979 as a therapist, group facilitator and teacher. Currently she also works for Bergen Community College as a personal counselor in the Office of Specialized Services assisting students with mental health issues. At Creative Living she leads the Safe Space Parent Grief Group as well as being a seasoned staff therapist.
