For the tenth year, Creative Living Counseling Center (CLCC) will honor local high school teenagers who have made significant contributions to their communities through actions demonstrating the qualities of caring, compassion, justice and non violence leading to community building.

Teens will be recognized at a gala celebration held 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Cedar Hill Church, 422 Cedar Hill Avenue, Wyckoff.  In addition to receiving certificates of appreciation from CLCC and the Bergen County Executive’s Office, students will be celebrated in musical presentations offered by Broadway stars and exceptionally talented teens.  Julie Hanson, former lead as Christine in Phantom of the Opera will again delight the audience.

The Humanity Awards were initiated after the tragedy at Columbine and the extensive press coverage of teens who had committed tragic actions as a way of lifting up and encouraging those teens who are making a profound difference in their communities.

This event has become an exciting and inspiring celebration in the life of Bergen County.

Please call Dr. Gretchen W. Janssen, Executive Director of CLCC for more information or to nominate a student or become a sponsor of this exceptional event.  201-327-2424, ext. 256. E-mail: Gretchen Janssen:
